Tower defense roguelike about the omnivorous creature growing through a floating island.
Start as a small spore in the depth of the ground and spread your tentacles from there.

Mutate your tentacles into different specialized organs.

Collect air, water and organics to stay alive.

Defend yourself against the various hostile flora and fauna specimens of a complex local ecosystem.

Collect evolutions to gain permanent bonuses.

Control mutagens and spend them to make even more specialized organs.

Utilize the smart pause to plan your next advances and to multitask at a few places at once.

Clear your body from resource-draining parasites and cancerous tumors.

Branch out your body and then loop it around to increase the safety of your branches.

Create spore emitter, collect evolution points and release your spores into the air to advance the game to the next generation.

Beat 5 generations facing increasing enemy threats and accumulating damage to your genome.

Try again using various approaches.

Current version includes interactive tutorial with contextual hints about all core mechanics. Making tutorials for complex strategic games sucks but hopefully I didn't screw it up as much as I could :)

This game was mostly made by one person (this person being me) in the spare time.
In 2015 I published Plantlike's minimalistic prototype on a Russian Reddit-like website Pikabu (the prototype was simply called "Island" back then).
Over all these years a lot of people kept messaging me about the game, which gave me motivation to finally publish the latest version of it here on Itchio.

Right now I consider this game to be mostly done and it's unlikely that it will receive a lot of new content.
Though I might make some bugfixes if it would be necessary.
Why is it for free? I am simply to lazy right now to properly pay taxes.

Any PC younger then 10 years should run the game just fine.
Recommended specs: 4Gb RAM, 3.40GHz CPU, 3GB GPU.
The game was made purely with OpenGL, C/C++ and the only external tool being FMOD sound library.
My target system is a 32bit Windows 7 (yeah, I know). But it was also tested on Windows 10 and a few Linux distros (via Proton).
This game was made for the keyboard+mouse and as for now not all controls could be remapped.
